Rep. Andrew Barkis, ranking Republican on the House Transportation Committee, releases statement on a King County Judge’s I-976 ruling

Rep. Andrew Barkis, ranking Republican on the House Transportation Committee, released the following statement on a King County Judge's I-976 ruling:

“While the ruling was a win for proponents of I-976, legal questions remain and $30 car tabs are still on hold. State lawmakers should respect the will of the voters, implement $30 car tabs and effectively end all legal uncertainty this legislative session.

“I believe there's a bipartisan path to do this. I have worked in good faith with the majority party on the transportation budget and related issues. And I have seen a willingness to honor $30 car tabs and continue to make critical investments in our transportation system. A lot of work remains to be done, but I believe we can get there.”
