Dear Friends and Neighbors,
Welcome and thank you for reading my first legislative email update. I am about to complete my second full week here at the Legislature, and what a time it has been! Two short weeks ago I went through an appointment process with the Thurston County Commission and the Pierce County Council, and I now have the honor and privilege of serving the great people of the 2nd District as your state representative. My experience and involvement in our communities, combined with a passion for public policy have been beneficial for me to come up to speed quickly, dive into the issues, and make good, informed decisions that matter most to our district. I will continue to gather information, build relationships, and develop our solutions for the future.
In my introductory video update, I discuss some of the issues we have been working on, ways you can be involved in the legislative process, and my contact information.
Even though the 2016 legislative session is nearing the finish line with just under eight days to go, there remains a lot of work to do. During the interim, my office door will remain open to you. I will also remain active in our communities. I look forward to attending community meetings to get to know you, the businesses and organizations, and the opportunities and challenges of our district. I will be holding town hall meetings during the interim as another avenue to keep you informed on your state Legislature. As your voice in Olympia, I am most effective when I hear the issues, concerns and questions directly from you. I encourage you to join me! Please stay tuned for more information on the location of these town halls.
I truly enjoy building relationships with the great people of our district. Earlier this week, I had the privilege of meeting and visiting with our Daffodil Princesses, pictured right. The Daffodil Court is comprised of bright young women from high schools throughout Pierce County. They had the opportunity to visit Olympia, promote their festival, and share their goals for the future after they graduate high school in the spring.
I thank you for taking the time to read my legislative email updates. Please feel free to share these updates with your friends and family and encourage them to subscribe. I also recommend that you follow my Sound Cloud page to listen to my audio updates.
I welcome you to share your thoughts on the issues I covered in this update, and any other issues important to you, your family, and your business. Please feel free to call my office at 360-786-7824 or email me.
It's an honor to serve you.
