Rep. Andrew Barkis joins Fox 13’s The Spotlight to talk about the homeless encampment under the Ship Canal Bridge in Seattle
Rep. Andrew Barkis, R-Olympia, joined Fox 13's The Spotlight to discuss the dangerous Ship Canal Bridge homeless encampment in Seattle. This encampment resides on a WSDOT right of way. As the ranking Republican on the House Transportation Committee, he talks about a budget proviso he authored that's supposed to offer alternative housing to homeless individuals in an effort to get these encampments cleaned up. He says the intent of his proviso is not happening and the state is not moving people out of these encampments and into shelter.
